January 2016 Music Faves

Let’s ignore the fact that I completely neglected to write a single post since OCTOBER. What can I say? A girl’s gotta work.

Anyway, I am making it my mission to start contributing more to GITNB and thought I’d start the year off right with a music post. As previously mentioned, I’m music-obsessed. I kid you not, I listened to 24,000 minutes of music on Spotify in 2015. This doesn’t include iTunes or T. Swift’s 1989 cd, which would probably bump the number up to 50K.

If I could define the music I’ve listened to in January of this year, it would best be described as mostly 80’s new wave with a hint of synthpop and a few wild cards thrown in the mix. So, without further adieu, this is what I’ve been listening to for most of the month:

  1. Katie Queen of Tennessee – The Apache Relay
  2. Dreaming – Blondie
  3. Boom Clap – Charlie XCX
  4. Video Killed the Radio Star – The Buggles
  5. If You Leave – Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark
  6. If I Ever Lose My Faith in You – Sting
  7. Heroes – David Bowie (RIP, Ziggy Stardust)
  8. Our Lips are Sealed – The Go-Go’s
  9. Lips are Movin’ – Meghan Trainor
  10. Don’t Ask Me Why – Billy Joel
  11. I Want to Hold Your Hand – The Beatles
  12. With a Girl Like You – The Troggs
  13. Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough – Michael Jackson
  14. Good Vibrations – The Beach Boys
  15. Do You Believe in Love – Huey Lewis & the News
  16. I’ve Got Your Number, Son – She & Him
  17. Once in a Lifetime – Talking Heads
  18. Tempted – Squeeze
